TELISIK | GEBANG – Peringati HUT ke-18 Brigade Infanteri (Brigif) 4 Mar/BS, Batalyon Infanteri (Yonif) 8 Marinir/Harimau Putih Tangkahan Lagan menggelar penaman mangrove (bakau). Kegiatan itu digelar di Dusun 8, Desa Pasar Rawa, Kecamatan Gebang, Kabupaten Langkat, Rabu (16/2) pagi.
Dalam kegiatan itu, Komandan Batalyon Infantri 8 Marinir Harimau Putih Tangkahan Lagan Letkol Marinir Farick, MTr Opsla, bersinergi dengan Lembaga Pengelola Hutan Desa (LPHD). Penanaman Rhizophora itu di areal pembibitan yang dikelola oleh LHPD.
Letkol Mar Farick mengatakan, selain penanaman mangrove, juga dilaksanakan kegiatan donor darah, sunat masal 150 orang, serbuan 1000 vaksin, turnamen voli, pembagian 1000 paket bahan pangan, dan bedah rumah 1 unit. “Semoga semua ini bisa memberi kontribusi untuk masyarakat,” terang Farick.
Hal tersebut, kata Farick, sesuai dengan arahan harian Kasal Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono. Dimana, TNI harus menjalin solidaritas dengan segenap komponen pertahanan dan keamanan negara. “Sinergitas dalam kesemestaan dan menjadi contoh serta teladan dalam mendukung uapya percepatan penanganan covid-19,” tandas Farick.
Pada kesempatan itu, Plt Buapti Langkat H Syah Afandin SH menyampaikan terimakasih atas kepedulian Dan Yonif 8 Marinir Harimau Putih Tangkahan Lagan terhadap lingkungan. “Selamat ulang tahun ke-18 Brigif 8 Marinir/BS Tangkahan Lagan,” ujar pria yang biasa disapa Ondim itu.
Di momen yang sama, Dewan Pimpinan Wilayah (DPW) Persatuan Nelayan Tradisional Indonesia (PNTI) Sumut Adhan Nur SE menyampaikan, penghijauan harus tetap dilakukan. “Kerja sama seperti ini, anatara Pemkab Langkat dan Marinir harus tetap dilaksanakan,” kata pria berdarah Melayu itu.
Melalui penanaman mangrove, kata Adhan Nur, penghijauan akan terus berjalan. Semua itu dilakukan untuk melangsungkan kehidupan nelayan yang sejahtera, khususnya bagi nelayan di pesisir Langkat. “Bakau adalah rumah dan tempat bermain bagi biota laut. Selamat ulang tahun ke-18 Brigif 8 Marinir/BS dan terima kasih kepada Plt Bupati Langkat yang peduli terhadap masyarakat pesisir,” pungkasnya.
