Penutupan Medan Zoo yang akan dilakukan sebelum lebaran tahun ini karena perbaikan ditunda sampai usai lebaran.
Hal ini dikarenakan saat libur lebaran nanti diperkirakan pengunjung yang datang ke Medan Zoo akan ramai.
“PUD Pembangunan akan menunda dulu penutupan Medan Zoo sebelum lebaran, karena di waktu libur lebaran pengunjung yang datang ke Medan Zoo diperkirakan ramai, seperti libur lebaran tahun- tahun sebelumnya”, kata Plt Dirut PUD Pembangunan, Bambang Hendarto dalam keterangannya, Minggu (7/4/24).
Dijelaskan Bambang, pihaknya telah meminta izin kepada Wali Kota Medan Bobby Nasution terkait dengan ditundanya penutupan Medan Zoo sebelum lebaran.
Sebab sebelumnya beberapa waktu lalu direncanakan Medan Zoo akan ditutup sebelum lebaran untuk dilakukan perbaikan.
“Tadi saya sudah menghadap langsung ke Pak Wali Kota Medan Bobby Nasution dan meminta izin untuk penundaan penutupan Medan Zoo.
Pak Wali saat ditemui di giat bersama anak yatim piatu sore tadi secara lisan mengizinkan penutupan ditunda sampai liburan lebaran berakhir”, ujar Bambang.
Menurut Bambang, ditundanya penutupan Medan Zoo selain dikarenakan banyaknya pengunjung yang akan datang saat liburan lebaran, juga dikarenakan masyarakat kota Medan khususnya kalangan menengah kebawah masih membutuhkan hiburan yang terjangkau.
“Karena hal ini juga kami PD Pembangunan menunda penutupan, sebab kita ketahui Medan Zoo juga merupakan hiburan yang terjangkau di kota Medan untuk masyarakat “, sebutnya.
Plt Dirut PUD Pembangunan menambahkan Kota Medan sebagai ibukota propinsi Sumut adalah salah satu kota yang menjadi destinasi warga yang akan melakukan mudik lebaran dan juga kota destinasi wisata bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di kabupaten kota yg dekat dengan kota Medan.
Atas dasar itu Medan zoo yang menjadi salah satu ikon wisata kota Medan, juga siap menjadi destinasi wisata lebaran tahun ini.
“PUD Pembangunan yang membawahi unit bisnis Medan Zoo juga telah melakukan persiapan dan beberapa pembenahan sementara, dengan dibantu oleh Pemko Medan
BKSDA Sumut, PKBSI, dan para donatur serta influencer untuk memberikan kenyamanan ketika akan berlibur di Medan zoo nantinya”, pungkasnya.
Selanjutnya Bambang juga menjelaskan bahwa tim Arsitek telah datang dan berkunjung ke Medan Zoo guna melakukan pemetaan bagian-bagian yg akan dilakukan revitalisasi dan pengembangan nantinya.
Selain itu, pihak PUD Pembangunan Kota Medan bersama dgn BPN Kota Medan dan didampingi oleh pihak Badan Aset Daerah Kota Medan (BKAD) juga telah meninjau langsung Untuk melakukan pengukuran ulang terhadap seluruh areal yang menjadi batas dari Medan Zoo sesuai arahan dari Pak Bobby Nasution.
