TELISIK | ARAB SAUDI – Raja Arab Saudi Salman bin Abdulaziz mengecam tindak kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh pasukan Israel di Masjid Al-Aqsa di Yerusalem.
Saudi Press Agency melaporkan pernyataan itu disampaikan melalui panggilan telepon kepada Perdana Menteri Pakistan Imran Khan pada Rabu (12/5) ketika membahas serangan Israel di Yerusalem.
Raja Salman pun menyatakan dukungan dari kerajaannya kepada rakyat Palestina untuk mendapatkan hak mereka yang sah. Ia menekankan akan berdiri bersama Palestina sampai mendapatkan hak-hak mereka.
Melansir Arab News, dalam panggilan tersebut kedua kepala negara juga membahas posisi masing-masing dalam perkembangan regional dan internasional terkini, serta saling menyampaikan selamat hari raya Idul Fitri.
Ketegangan antara Israel dan Palestina terus berlanjut seiring dengan langkah Israel yang terus menyerang Gaza. Setidaknya 65 warga Palestina, termasuk 16 anak-anak dan lima wanita, tewas karena tindakan tersebut.
Lebih dari seribu warga di seluruh Gaza pun dilaporkan luka-luka dan mengalami kerusakan parah pada area pemukiman mereka.
Semenjak penutupan akses ke Masjid Al Aqsa pekan lalu, konflik antara dua negara itu terus memanas. Di tengah konflik yang tak kunjung mereda, Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu disebut akan terus menyerang Hamas, seperti dilaporkan AA.
“Perdana Menteri Netanyahu mengatakan bahwa Israel akan terus bertindak untuk merusak kemampuan militer Hamas dan organisasi teror lainnya yang beroperasi di jalur Gaza,” tulis sekretariat Netanyahu ketika melaporkan isi percakapan telepon Netanyahu dengan Presiden Amerika Serikat Joe Biden.
