Dari tahun 2019 hingga 2022, Pemko Medan telah melantik sebanyak 2.756 Pegawai Pemerintah Dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK) guru di lingkungan Pemko Medan.
Hal ini dilakukan guna memenuhi kebutuhan tenaga pengajar disetiap jenjang pendidikan mulai dari tingkat SD hingga SMP.
Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Medan Laksamana Putra Siregar mengungkapkan dari data yang ada untuk tahun 2019 guru yang dilantik menjadi PPPK sebanyak 79 orang,
Sementara itu untuk tahun 2021 guru yang dilantik menjadi PPPK sebanyak 1639 orang, sedangkan untuk tahun 2022 guru yang dilantik menjadi PPPK sebanyak 1038 orang.
“Kemarin Pak Wali Kota baru melantik sebanyak 1038 orang PPPK guru untuk tahun 2022, dengan begitu total keseluruhan PPPK guru yang ada di Kota Medan hingga saat ini sudah mencapai 2.756 orang.”kata Laksamana Putra Siregar.
Meskipun saat ini jumlah PPPK guru di Kota Medan sudah mencapai 2.756 orang, namun Laksamana Putra Siregar mengakui masih membutuhkan lebih banyak lagi PPPK guru di kota Medan.
“Jika dihitung kita masih kekurangan PPPK Guru sebanyak 2.990 orang. Kenapa kita masih membutuhkan banyak PPPK, karena memang dinamika guru ini sangat dinamis, salah satunya karena banyak guru-guru kita yang telah memasuki masa pensiun”jelas Laksamana Putra Siregar.
Untuk mengisi kekurangan tersebut, Laksamana Putra Siregar mengatakan saat ini masih memberdayakan guru honorer.
“Tentu kita berharap kedepanya kebutuhan kita terhadap PPPK guru ini dapat terpenuhi seluruhnya.”harap Laksamana Putra Siregar.(yg)
